Dinko Petrov tournament has turned Stara Zagora into a world wrestling capital. The sixth international tournament in memory of the honoured athlete and coach Dinko Petrov, who brought to Bulgaria a number of Olympic, World and European championships medals, was held on March 29th. The tournament was organised by Beroe wrestling club with the support of Stara Zagora city hall. There were two styles contested at the event – Graeco-Roman and Freestyle in the cadet age category.
The sixth successive edition of the tournament was attended by all big wrestling clubs in the country, as well as teams from the US, Russia, Ukraine, the Slovak Republic, Kosovo, Lithuania, Latvia, 3 teams from Macedonia and 2 from Turkey. Bulgaria’s national teams in the two styles also took part in the contest. So did the wrestlers from Beroe club which is sponsored by “Trace Group Hold” PLC.
